Grooms Wedding Cake
The groom’s cakes were served to the bridesmaids by Robbie. The cakes were fruit cakes. Women loved the cake's designs, it was filled with a dash of dates, French cherries, walnuts, prunes, and molasses.
They fell for the sharp aroma and the rich flavor. They could almost feel the love of their beloved in the sweet cakes. Most of the girls, I believed, saved a piece as a customary wish to get their dream lover.
Following the groom cakes were glasses of wine and sweet brandy. Since a lot of pieces of cakes were still remaining, Robbie volunteered that we could save and share these delicious cakes with our friends after the honey moon as well.
